Beach

1. Stokes Bay, SA

Stokes Bay was voted by Tourism Australia as Australia’s best beach. Before you even reach the white sand you are weaved through a mountain of caves and coves. This beach is the perfect place to soak up some sun after a long day of driving.

2. Cable Beach, WA

Cable Beach has over 22 km of white sandy shores. It is famous for its camel rides and beautiful turtle nests. If you are driving down 4WD vehicles are permitted in the area ‘North of the rocks’.

3. Whitehaven Beach, QLD

This beach is one you can’t miss! It is one of Australia’s largest tourist attractions and is constantly viral on social media for its deep turquoise waters and white sand beaches. What makes this beach even more special are the beautiful tidal water inlets that form. These Inlets cause the white sand and deep blue water to swirl and form beautiful patterns on the ocean’s surface.

Bush

1. Blue Mountains, NSW

The Blue Mountains are home to soaring sandstone walls, native Australian fauna and flora and a range of Aboriginal rock art. If you are arriving at night there are also underground glow worm caves or local luxury wilderness retreats to see the night through.

2. Steavenson Falls, VIC

Steavenson Falls is Victoria’s largest waterfall. In just a mere seven-hundred meter walk you could gaze upon eighty-four meters of roaring water, cloaked in a blanket of native Australian wilderness.

3. Kangaroo Valley, VIC

Kangaroo Valley is home to many iconic wonders. Notably, when planning a road trip you must drive over the heritage-listed Hampden Bridge. This bridge is over one hundred and ten years old and is the last surviving wooden suspension bridge in all of Australia. As you drive over this bridge you can see the beautiful mountains and forests of Kangaroo Valley.

1. Coober Pedy, SA

Coober Pedy is self-proclaimed as the Opal Capital of the world! Over 150 years ago its beautiful dusty hills were once covered in water and when it dried it left behind gorgeous minerals that have now formed into an abundance of opals. When these jewels aren’t glistening in your eye you can marvel at the beautiful hills and dunes that surround them.

2. King’s Canyon, NT

If a desert destination is what you are after, then King’s Canyon is just for you! The beautiful location boasts iconic camel tours, beautiful sandstone formations and panoramic views over the red sand dunes. With countless adventures on offer, you may never want to leave!

3. Lake Eyre, SA

A lake in the desert? You heard that right, Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre truly defies all expectations. If you plan your trip perfectly you may be able to gaze upon Australia’s largest salt lakes glistening right in the middle of the Australian Desert.
